It's okay to not be OK in 2025.

Welcome back to the Wake the F*** Up podcast, as we delve into all that 2025 has to offer. Our hosts Alix and David kick off the episode by reflecting on their holiday experiences as a family. Familiar themes of grief, family dynamics, and the evolution of traditions after loss are woven through this discussion as we catch our listeners up on what Dalix and David have been up to during the holiday break. If you experienced challenging family dynamics during the holidays (who doesn’t?!) you'll relate to this conversation. Our hosts share personal stories about navigating grief within their families, highlighting how in a large blended family, each child copes differently, but there are still universal feelings of anxiety and grief that family members will have in common.

Alix and David discuss their experiences with changing holiday traditions, the emotional weight of ornaments, and the challenge of blending old traditions with new ones. The conversation also touches on therapy, particularly somatic experiencing and sound therapy, emphasizing the importance of processing difficult emotions and practicing self-love and acceptance.

As the New Year approaches, Alix and David remain focused on acknowledging struggles and setting compassionate resolutions. The key takeaway here: it’s ok to not be ok. Alix shares her commitment to allowing herself and others to not be okay, by simply recognizing and bearing witness to difficult emotions
